Ashwagandha Sprouting!

The days are now longer and warmer. The Ashwagandha that we planted in our greenhouse on February 28 is beginning to sprout. Ashwaganda means "the smell of a horse," indicating that the herb imparts the vigor and strength of a stallion. We will harvest the ashwagandha roots in late fall and prepare an invigorating tonic from it.

Signs of Spring

crocusToday I heard the songs of birds. The sky were deep blue and the sun was shining. On my morning walk I met a fisher cat. We surprised each other so much that for a moment we just stood there staring at each other. It was the first time I saw a fisher cat. As I was observing this beauty I could not help thinking, were you the one that killed 11 of our chickens this past weekend?
